: : I am looking for the set of Copyright 1954 Childcraft Books and/or the first two books. I already have 3,4,5.
: : I have a complete set of Copyright 1947 Childcraft Books that I would be interested in selling.
: I grew up with the Childcraft books and am trying to find a poem from (I think) book 4-about (sp)Dillika Dallika Dinah, niece she was to the emporer of China, Fair she was as a morning in May, when (sp) Hy Kokolorum stole her away.... and so on. If you have the name of the poem, please send it to me at donna_95062@yahoo.com. Thanks
I'm not sure when these comments were left, but may be able to help with a few of these issues. I am a Special Education teacher in Iowa and have had the honor of teaching in the best 5 star refurbished trailer out behind the school. With a new school being built we started cleaning and discovered a set of 1954 Childcraft books, excluding #9. The clean and purge mission is far from over, so there is a chance #9 is hiding somewhere. The books are in very good condition and appear to have been used at some point in the mid 60's for textbooks, by looks only a brief amount of time. I am torn whether to hang on to the set out of nostalgia or auction them off to the highest bidder - (We're also looking at a fundraising opportunity!) The text is truly 1950's and in some places makes you wonder why things had to change, other places - Change is good, very good. I'd be interested in discussing possibilities or be of help in anyway.
Thanks, sfiler
